Who I Am and Why I'm Here

Hey y’all. I’m Rachel. This is my blog, Too Real to Be Perfect!

Let’s be honest, I don’t really know what I’m doing and nobody actually asked for this, but here we are. I thought I would start us all off with little blurb about me and whatever this is.

I’m a 28-year old pastor’s kid with zero face filter and an unhealthy obsession with Hobby Lobby. I love Jesus, I'm Oklahoma born and raised, and I have been married to a wonderful man, Bill, for about a year and a half now. Shout out to him for making me the only Rachel Repavich on the face of the planet.

Quality time is what really floats my boat. I live to entertain and feed my closest friends. Family means EVERYTHING to me. I am very close with both of my parents. I have always been a Daddy’s Girl, and I call my mom everyday on the phone. Deeply offended when she doesn't answer. Let's see, what else?

  • I love gold, sparkly things, organizing, making lists, a great latte and Frasier.

  • I am a Thomas Sowell, Jordan Peterson and Gordon Ramsey stan.

  • Slightly basic. Catch me at your local Target and Chick-Fil-A 4 out of 7 days a week.

  • I stay up until 3am laughing at Bible memes more often than I'd like to admit.

  • I enjoy cooking for my husband and endlessly cleaning and decorating our home… modern day feminists everywhere are screeching...

You’re too loud.

Anyways, I despise small talk and inauthentic relationships and...

Tickling is torture, change my mind.

I “ain’t black” and I am a self-proclaimed “notable exception...”

The Fine Arts play a huge role in my life. A natural-born performer, I started doing musical theater at age 5 and always felt at home on the stage. I graduated college with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. I am a former NBA cheerleader where I danced four consecutive seasons from 2015-2019. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to perform in many different capacities, for many different audiences. All of my performance experience has played an important role in who I am and how I relate to others today.

I am conservative. I “ain’t black” and I am a self-proclaimed “notable exception” (ask me about it) for the [not so] simple fact that I did not vote for Joseph Robinette Biden in the 2020 election. Save your lectures. I am not at all interested in staying politically correct on this blog. While I don’t claim any blind allegiance to a particular political party, if you look me up, I am currently a registered Republican. You can bet your bottom dollar we will discuss my political leanings and what has influenced those choices over time.

What could I possibly have to talk about?

I will discuss major issues surrounding critical race theory, my unique pro-life stance, feminism and society’s struggles with authenticity. While I do consider myself a Christian conservative and some of the content on this blog will be political, I may also share what recipe I learned last week, newly-wed tips, or even how to build lasting friendships. I want you to know that this blog is for everyone. I won’t leave anyone out and it is my goal to create content that will bring us all together.

Just a friendly reminder, I’m really not here to be nice, but I will always try my best to be kind.

You’re still here? Awesome!

I want to be an encouragement to those who may be struggling with their authenticity.

So why am I doing this?

Authenticity is one of the strongest values I hold. Sometimes to a fault (hence the ‘Too’). I have noticed over time that society seems to be lacking in authenticity. I observed that people are either afraid to speak up (especially in today’s political climate) or have strayed far from their values and in the process lost themselves. Putting up a front has become a way of life, a means of self-preservation for some, and it really is a shame. I’m starting this blog because I want to be an encouragement to those who may be struggling with their authenticity. I also want to stress why it is so important, now more than ever, to be true to who you are and stand up for what you believe in. I hope to inspire others to be bold and confident. To be real. #tooreal

This should be fun!
